Christmas Season Symbols in Philippines Cities

Christmas season is the longest and the grandest celebration in the whole of Philippines. When the September month starts to the end of January of the following year, this happy season is all about decorations which  almost every citizen accentuate details of each Christmas symbols in every household indoor and outdoor. 

This Christmas 2016, most theme of the Christmas symbols are all about unity, peace, love and harmony. Every cities throughout the Philippines showcases their once in a year  elaborately decorated giant Christmas trees. 

This year, the city of Tagum in Mindanao bested its tallest and grandest among other cities. Tagum city's Christmas tree measures about 172.5 feet which broke its own record by lighting the tallest holiday structure since their Holiday Tree Tradition began. Tangub city in Mindanao has always claimed pride in their Christmas symbols every year and had been institutionalized ever since.

"The month-long Christmas symbols festival started out of a person’s desire to comfort a homesick beloved. He put up a lighted Christmas tree at the city plaza which light also drew scores of Tangubanons to the area just to pass the time away. In no time, parents came with babes in their arms or going after toddlers, or grandpas and grandmas bringing picnic baskets. It was a grand time for the whole family". Zamboanga city just did their grand lighting of their Christmas symbols. This year's theme together with the Zamboang Hermosa Festival is "A world of peace and friendship. Christian, Muslim and lumads... all unite for the city of Zamboanga"
